Be. Here. Now.

A man and a dog pause on a hilltop.

Behind them, sunshine. Ahead, a storm approaches, extending from horizon to horizon. No escape. It comes. Inhaling hot humid air and exhaling cold screaming wind and spitting out torrents of rain. Thunder shakes the ground. Lightening periodically tethers the earth and sky.

The Four Classic Elements of the Universe; Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, dance together in a masterful display of power and balance – somehow managing to act in opposition and cooperation simultaneously.

The smell of damp earth and ozone fills the air. No refuge. Closer now.

Some would flee in fear of danger and uncertainty. Some would surrender to the storm. The man does neither. The man has learned what the dog has always known.  The man knows he should not try to control things beyond his control. He need not cling to the comfort of the sun, nor should he fear the looming storm. Everything he needs is present in this moment, as it is in every moment.

The man is at peace because he accepts what is, and only with this acceptance can he receive the blessings of the present.

Fragments of a rainbow. Fading in and out. The storm and the sun collaborate to create the palette of light that reveals all that can be seen. The rushing wind whispers four Truths to all who will listen, using only three words – to be considered individually and collectively.

Be. Here. Now.
