There Comes a Time

Over the past few days I spent some time sorting through some old artwork.  Most had been stored under far less than ideal conditions for a long time and were slightly to badly damaged.

The cool thing about creating art is, when you look at an old piece you can vividly recall the joys and frustrations of creating each one. Some were over 40 (!) years old. Most were created during a time when there was little money in the budget for art materials, so there was always added pressure to make something special with the materials I did have.

I had been saving them under the “someday they will be worth something” exception to the “you could be a hoarder” rule.  However, there comes a time when you have to face reality.

I gave them a 21st Century flatland version of a Viking funeral, now they decorate the walls of Valhalla.
